The works in this exhibition are made by Indigenous artists and honor generations of spiritual practices\, storytelling\, and tradition. Leave your preconceived notions behind and immerse yourself\, not in the question of if Sasquatch exists\, but rather\, how are we existing with and honoring this non-human other.

SUMMARY:Hike with Hoyt
DESCRIPTION:Explore Hoyt Arboretum’s trails on a guided hike! Learn the trails\, see the Arboretum’s highlights\, and meet a new community of outdoor enthusiasts. Reserve your spot in-person the day of the hike at the front desk inside the Visitor Center. Each hike is limited to 15 participants. Hikers should expect to cover up to 4 miles on a mix of packed dirt\, gravel\, and paved trails. The hiking pace will be approximately 2 miles per hour. Hoyt Arboretum’s trails are well-graded but there is some elevation change (and occasionally stairs). Hikes will last 90 minutes to 2 hours and take place rain or shine.

DESCRIPTION:World Forestry Center is proud to partner with Third Angle New Music to celebrate the place 3A has called home for 40 years. This special performance features a string quartet and clarinet playing 3A-commissioned works inspired by the Pacific Northwest\, paired with poetry recited by former Oregon Poet Laureate Kim Stafford. The program includes The Evergreen by Caroline Shaw—a tribute to an elder tree on Swiikw (Galiano Island)\, British Columbia; Perpetual Spring by Dai Fujikura\, capturing nature’s quiet\, resilient force; Evening Prayer by Quinn Mason\, a tranquil wish for better times; and a world première composition by 3A violist Wendy Richman.
