Experience the art of tranquility\, mindfulness\, and omotenashi\, whole-hearted hospitality. It is not an exaggeration to say that through tea\, one can understand much of Japanese culture. SUMMARY:Member-Only Mindfulness Tour
DESCRIPTION:This intimate tour focuses not on meditation\, but instead on learning to bring mindful awareness to oneself\, and the world around us\, through intentional observation and connections. An experienced guide will provide a foundation for the art of contemplative exploration throughout various Garden spaces\, and gently guide awareness away from the busyness of everyday life\, back toward the connection to nature and experience of peace. Each tour will be slightly unique to focus on the current season\, weather (occurs rain or shine)\, and garden spaces. However\, these tours are designed and intended to help members continue to enhance future Garden visits through independent mindful practice through all seasons.

SUMMARY:Tree Transformation Card Readings
DESCRIPTION:Ground yourself while awakening energy within through guided Qigong movements. Then stroll to a special grove of trees featuring ginkgo\, Chinese and Japanese white pine\, Japanese red pine\, dawn redwood\, and others. There you will be guided through a tree reading that can focus on a specific area of concern\, or may simply open you to guidance and receiving messages. The Tree Cards—a uniquely accurate oracle—help bridge the connection to tree wisdom. These cards were inspired by meeting the trees in the Arboretum and discovering that each species carries a distinct energy and message. Bring a journal to capture your insights. If you have a deck of Tree Cards\, bring them along! A few loaner decks are available. There is also a special ticket price if you would like to purchase your own deck of cards for a discounted price for this class only. This event is coordinated by Hoyt Arboretum\, and registration is required through their website.
