SUMMARY:Tai Chi
DESCRIPTION:Many tai chi moves use images from nature—stable as a pine\, flowing like a river\, hands moving as clouds. Enjoying tai chi in the Arboretum allows us to connect deeply to that imagery. Each week we will explore movements which are relaxing\, help improve focus and balance\, and nurture rooted in the moment.

SUMMARY:Member Exhibition Preview for "Kintsugi: The Restorative Art of Naoko Fukumaru"
DESCRIPTION:Join Portland Japanese Garden in celebrating the opening of Kintsugi: The Restorative Art of Naoko Fukumaru. In the Garden’s final exhibition of 2024\, we will showcase stunning kintsugi from artist Naoko Fukumaru. Kintsugi is an ancient method of mending damaged ceramics using urushi (natural lacquer) dusted with powdered gold. This type of mending highlights the beauty of imperfections\, rather than trying to hide them.
