Volunteers monitor the timing of specific events in a plant’s life cycle (full bloom\, fruiting\, leaf fall\, etc.)\, record their observations\, and then share their data with BudBurst.

Join this class to learn the clues to search for that make plant identification more manageable in the colder months. Class will start in the library with a brief presentation along with samples of key features to search for when identifying deciduous plants in the winter. DESCRIPTION:Winter is the time for evergreens. It is when their energy is most potent and clear. Join our instructor Flora to be warmed by the presence of trees on a cold January day. In this class\, you will have the opportunity to connect with this rich and resonant energy through warming Qigong movements and walking through the forest. Class will conclude with hot tea in the Visitor Center library. Bundle-up and welcome the warming embrace of spruce\, redwood\, cedar and Douglas-fir. Each participant will draw a Tree Transformation Card for a personal and group tune-in.

We will use plants and leaves to create beautiful details before cutting and shaping our objects. Then\, we use underglaze to add pops of color to our creations. Participants can plan on making up to 6 items from their slab. Your handmade gifts will be glazed\, fired\, and returned to you before the holidays.
