ARCHERY RANGE

Surrounded by forest, this outdoor range is free for drop-in use. Bring your own equipment. Crossbows are not allowed. The archery range is managed by Portland Parks & Recreation. Parking is free at the gravel lot adjacent to the field.

HOYT ARBORETUM

Visitor Center hours: daily, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hoyt Arboretum is Portland’s museum of living trees, featuring more than 2,300 species of trees from around the world, along 12 miles of trails. Trail maps are available. Managed in partnership with Portland Parks & Recreation.

INTERNATIONAL ROSE TEST GARDEN

Enjoy 10,000 roses, typically in bloom from May through October, overlooking Portland’s skyline and Mt. Hood. For wedding or event permits, contact Portland Parks & Recreation.

Availability: generally first come, first serve basis. Reserved occasionally. The open field is maintained by Portland Parks & Recreation.

Picnic tables are located throughout the park and can be reserved for large parties through Portland Parks & Recreation. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the park unless part of a permitted event.

ROSE GARDEN CHILDREN’S PLAYGROUND

This accessible playground includes slides, swings, a sand pit, and restrooms. The adjacent Elephant House is available for picnic and event reservations through Portland Parks & Recreation. The playground and Elephant House are managed by Portland Parks & Recreation.

Rose Garden Children's Playground

TENNIS COURTS

Work on your stroke on the six tennis courts located next to the Rose Garden. Bring your own equipment. The tennis courts are maintained by Portland Parks & Recreation. Sorry, uses other than tennis, handball, or pickleball are not allowed.

WORLD FORESTRY CENTER DISCOVERY MUSEUM

Hours: Wednesday – Sunday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Change the way you think about trees at World Forestry Center’s Discovery Museum. Interactive exhibits help visitors of any age understand and appreciate their connection to the forest.

☆ Paid attraction: Peggy the locomotive and petrified tree exhibit are free on campus grounds.
