Fall Fruit at the Arboretum

Did you know that all flowering plants produce fruits? Did you know that blueberries and watermelons are true berries, but strawberries and blackberries are not? Fruits can be fleshy (like a ripe tomato) or dry (like a hazelnut). In this mini-workshop and walk, we will learn about the differences between fruits and vegetables, discuss some of the different types of fruits and how they are derived, then go for a walk to see some of the diversity of fruit types at the Arboretum. We aim to send you home with lots of geeky botanical knowledge to impress your family and friends!
