Introduction to Mushroom Identification

This class will cover the basics of mushroom identification for beginners, including mushrooms’ physical features, lifestyles, ecology and fun anecdotes about mushroom oddities and beauty. Then we’ll take a walk in the field to see mushrooms fruiting in their natural habitats and begin to practice our new ID skills! Participants are encouraged to bring in their own field guides for reference.Participants are strongly encouraged to bring in mushrooms they find before class so we can practice our new ID skills after the presentation! This event is coordinated by Hoyt Arboretum and registration is required through their website.
